At AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care of Duluth, we believe that high-quality auto repair starts with a foundation of trust and a passion for the craft. For owner Steve Orehosky, that passion began long before he opened the doors to his first center. 



A Lifetime of Automotive Passion

Steve’s journey into the world of auto repair was inspired by the classic muscle cars of the 1960s and 70s. As the proud owner of a 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Steve spent his early years tinkering under the hood and performing his own repairs. What began as a dedicated hobby eventually evolved into a lifelong career. 


After graduating from the University of Georgia in 1984 and pursuing two postgraduate degrees, Steve decided to turn his personal interest into a professional mission. He underwent extensive technical and customer service training with AAMCO, specializing in the complex world of automatic transmissions. Today, with over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry and having owned and operated five AAMCO centers, Steve brings a level of expertise to Duluth that is hard to match.

A Family Tradition of Service


For Steve, the ultimate goal was always to build a business that combined professional excellence with a family atmosphere. That dream was realized when his son, Paul, joined the business as a partner. When you visit our shop, you might even cross paths with the youngest member of the team—Steve’s dog, Lucy, who often keeps the crew company.


We understand that for most drivers, the transmission is a "mysterious" part of the vehicle. Our approach is simple: we treat our customers with the same care a doctor treats a patient. We take all the time necessary to explain the mechanical workings of your vehicle so you feel comfortable and confident in the repairs we recommend.

Rooted in the North Georgia Community


Steve is a lifelong resident of North Georgia, born and raised in Atlanta. His commitment to the community extends far beyond the service bay. As a dedicated advocate for animal welfare, Steve serves as a board member and volunteer for three no-kill animal shelters in the North Georgia area. Helping to save animals is a passion he pursues with the same dedication he brings to his business.
